Description

I am attracted to forms that give a sense of instability, like Giacometti's elongated sculptures, rather than solid forms that are majestic and grounded. However, the material of ceramics and its use as a flower vase are incompatible with such unstable shapes. This Kinuta style flower vase is a form that I was able to harmonize these conflicting elements. By making the neck thinner and longer than the so-called Kinuta style flower vase, I have come closer to the ideal shape with its instability.\nFor Kinuta-shaped vases, there are famous celadon masterpieces called "Bansei" and "Sensei". It is a wonderful celadon color and a figure of elegance. However, in the sense of wabi, or the lonely sound of the original "Kinuta" tool, this flower vase may be more suitable. On top of the bare clay, only a white layer of clay, the ashes of the burnt pine split wood, leaving only traces of fire. It has an unpretentious expression and a somewhat unstable shape. I feel that it deserves the name "Kinuta".When a flower is placed in it, it creates a great contrast and enhances the loveliness of the flower. Japanese people have been put their feelings into "Kinuta". I wanted to introduce this work at the beginning of the autumn season, thinking of the wabi that has been written about in many poems and haiku, including the Noh play " Kinuta".\n\nSize Φ105×h290 mm\nMaterial local clay\nGlaze Kohiki "white slip" \nFiring Genyo " climbing kiln "\nPacking Wooden box" We will make a wooden box after ordering.
